Explanation
The above graph has logarithmic QUIPS as the y-axis and
logarithmic time as the x-axis. It shows the contrast between
a dedicated machine and a machine with lots of
interrupts. The jitter in the HINT curve shows the
disturbance in the system. The jitter may be due to
multi-user environment, network daemons, or any other
kind of periodic or aperiodic activity of the system.
One can reduce small amounts of jitter by sampling a large
number of data points and by increasing the number of repetitions
per data point.
